About the Candidate
Meet Samuel Kahara Macharia
Kazi, Uaminifu na Matokeo
A Thika man who has spent years in the rooms where decisions are made, and on the streets where their consequences are lived. In 2027 he asks Thika Town for the mandate to connect the two.
The Story
Listening, working, showing up
Samuel Kahara Macharia, known across Thika simply as Master, is a technology and engineering professional and public-interest advocate. He studied Information Technology and Engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and holds a Certificate in Leadership from Coast International College, a combination that shapes how he leads: modern, practical and accountable.
Long before declaring his candidacy, he was already doing the unglamorous parts of the job: sitting on the grass with boda boda riders to hear their case, speaking for market traders on television when their livelihoods were threatened, and taking public-interest questions all the way into the courtroom. He is the third petitioner in the case to block the government from selling its Safaricom shares, standing in court to keep a national asset in public hands.
He believes leadership is measured by its impact on people's lives, not by the position one holds. His campaign runs on three Kiswahili words he intends to be judged by: Kazi (work), Uaminifu (integrity) and Matokeo (results). Everything else in this campaign, from the ten written commitments to the published trackers this website will carry, exists to make those three words checkable.
He is also a builder of institutions, not just a joiner of them: he founded the Party of Action, a political party headquartered in Thika town itself, proof that he organises where he comes from. For the 2027 race he carries that experience onto the Wiper Patriotic Front ticket, standing with the united opposition.
In 2027 he is the Wiper Patriotic Front candidate for Member of Parliament for Thika Town Constituency, standing on a platform of education, jobs, infrastructure, health and accountability.
"Leadership is not about the position one holds. It is about the people one serves, the opportunities one creates, and the positive change one leaves behind."
